UCW Meet Held At Mrs. Knight’s Home

The UCW regular meeting met October 7 at 8 p.m. at Mrs. Charlie Knight’s home. Mrs. Harold Brown and Mrs. Walter Riddell led devotions with readings prayers and hymns. Sixteen members attended the roll call and many submitted Thankoffering envelopes. Topics included local business and an invitation for Mrs. C. M. Anderson’s in November. Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Lloyd Anderson served a bountiful lunch before adjournment.

The Zone 10 tournament on October 7 featured Russel Hamiota Elphinstone and Strathclair. Russel beat Strathclair 2 1 Elphinstone defeated Hamiota 4 0 and the losers playoff ended 2 2. Hamiota then beat Russel 3 0 to win the title for the sixth time and advance to provincial playoffs in Winnipeg the weekend of the sixteenth.
