Oak River guests and relatives from Brandon Thunder Bay Fort Francis Winnipeg and Forrest visited over the weekend. Notable arrivals included the Bridgemans and the Paddocks family celebrations with new births and extended family.
Winnipeg highways install twelve large signs warning motorists to stop for school buses with flashing signals. Highways Minister Peter Burtniak notes spot checks show some drivers ignore the rule endangering children. Signs placed on major routes around Winnipeg include Trans-Canada Highway west of Perimeter, PTH 9 Lockport area, Henderson Highway, Trans-Canada East of Winnipeg, and Provincial Road 204. The Highway Traffic Act requires a 15 foot stop when a bus is flashing, with exceptions for opposite lanes on divided multi-lane highways.
