Legion Auxiliary Meeting Sees 19 Members In Attendance
The Legion Auxiliary gathered in the Community Room on September 26 with 19 members. They opened with O Canada, reviewed minutes and treasurer's report, read a Salvation Army thank you, and noted scholarship thank yous from Gayle Brown and Kathy Wilson. A hamper groceries raffle was won by Mrs. Myrtle Hemphill and a set of wrenches by Mrs. Gail Shanks of Winnipeg. Plans include a November tea bake sale and Remembrance Day poppy sale. The meeting closed with Queen and tea social.

A miscellaneous shower was held for Barbara Smith on Friday in Crandall with about 65 ladies signing the guest book. Elayna Shier escorted Barbara to a decorated seating area while nieces and friends presented corsages and gifts centered on a wagon decorated as the Simplot Plant. Barbara thanked guests and the shower committee hosted luncheon to conclude the event.

Autumn Tea Planned by Royal York Chapter No 30
Royal York Chapter No 30 resumes after summer recess with plans for an Autumn Tea in Hamiota on October 15 from 2 30 to 4 30 pm. An afghan donation will be raffled at the event. Reports were given by W M Lister D Hudson and Sister L Andrew on Grand Chapter Sessions in Winnipeg Regina and a Rivers visit to pass a travelling banner from Yorkton Chapter.
