Man-Plan grants totaling 250000 for Manitoba athletes
Winnipeg minister Larry Des jardins announced 250000 from lottery revenues for the Man-Plan aid program. Athletes receive 200000 while coaches and officials get 50000. The CRANDALL Birdtail River School Division approves Brandon University led cooperative program providing Student Teaching Centres in eight rural divisions in western Manitoba. Fourth year Education students will complete teaching requirements, up to twelve per division for six weeks during March and April 1986. Pool Elects Bill Strath Manitoba Pool Elevators President
Winnipeg Souris farmer Bill Strath was elected president of Manitoba Pool Elevators by the board at its annual meeting. He replaces Wallace Fraser who served as president since 1980. Charles Swanson of Brookdale was chosen first vice president and Bill Corbett of Benito second vice president. Strath has chaired as a Pool delegate and director since 1974 and was elected first vice president in 1980. He runs a 960 acre Souris area farm with his son, growing grains and oilseeds.
