A tame fawn shot near Wasagaming outside Riding Mountain National Park upsets locals. The fawn, one of twins with its mother in a cottage development, drew comments from resident and park warden Jerry Campbell about the wooded area fronts the park.
A Manitoba couple Mr. and Mrs. Ab McCormick celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with family and friends. The event included a supper at North Hill Motel attended by Alf Frn Gordon Sage Alma Hearn Rita Holmes and George Smiley plus Bert Hearn and others. The story also notes local wildlife near a Brandon development where two fawns, nicknamed the twins, were found after a gunshot death of one fawn near the cottages.
Congratulations to Miss Mary Alan formerly of Hamiota now at Sunset Haven Brandon on her 90th birthday. A surprise party was held at nephew Cyril Allan’s Brandon home with relatives including Alice and George Gorring Alexander Mabel Stinson Joyce McFaddin Phyllis Allan and William Allan.
About 150 people gathered in Hamiota on November 10 1975 for the United Church of Canada fifty year anniversary final event. Eighty church members received certificates as histories and pictures from former United Church communities were displayed.

The November meeting of the W I at Memorial Hall with president Beryl Burt presiding included 15 members. Plans were set for December pot luck and guests, a Hospital Team report praised for receipts and community cooperation, net proceeds $302.15, and last month’s donations to ACWW Save Sight project $10.40 with a motion to double. nominations for district officers due January 15, and program items featured marketing trends and Leadership Live In report. Oak River reps Jean Henry Myrtle White attended. crafts shown and convenor reports updated. tea social hosted by V McPhaden and Iris Davidson.
CARDALE A 50th anniversary tea for Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Shaw drew about 156 guests from as far as Alberta and BC. The event at the arena included tea service by Mrs. Fortune Wyatt Koscielny and Peter, a dinner, and a three tier cake. Graeme Shaw acted as MC and telegrams and memories were shared in a festive white and gold setting.
