A rural Women’s Support Group in Hamiota Kenton area outlines issues from violence to self care. Project Sunshine Winnipeg Calendar Fundraiser

Bank of Montreal employees launched Project Sunshine to aid Winnipeg Children’s Hospital. The calendar features young artists, many patients, depicting the shining sun symbolizing happiness and growth. Calendars cost $5 and are available at all Bank of Montreal branches to support Manitoba’s only children’s hospital.

Newdale Hospital Auxiliary Meeting Recap

Newdale Hospital Aid met Friday November 20 at 1 30 p m in the Newdale Harrison House with fourteen members. President Lynn Tolton led prayers and the group discussed Pancake Supper success, volunteer hours, and upcoming activities including a Christmas Tea bake sale and a February 12 1988 meeting.

Rebekahs mark 75th anniversary with Halloween tea

Grace Rebekah Lodge celebrated its 75th anniversary on October 31 at the Hamiota Community Centre. The event drew 203 guests on a warm day, featured Halloween decor and multiple fundraising tables, and raised 906 dollars for the lodge and community.

Children’s Aid Concert and Sale in Hamiota Soon

The Hamiota and District Children’s Aid annual event runs Friday December 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Hamiota Collegiate with local entertainers and cartoons for kids. Candy sales follow, plus Saturday December 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Centre auctioneer J Curry sells items and good. An Olympic Figure Skating silver coin drawing follows the auction.
