The Hamiota village council met with Mayor Chambers and councillors in attendance. Minutes were read and adopted. Finance items authorized purchase of police belt and baton, fire bell tower insurance, and 2500 fire policy with 1500 contents. Nominations for 1908 officers set for December 10 with Andrew as returning officer. possible poll December 17. Accounts approved for payment and report adopted. Adjourned to next regular meeting.

The community learned on Wednesday October 20 of the sudden death of Mrs Joe Brown of Clan William. Mrs J H McConnell notified relatives by telephone and funeral attendance followed Friday with Mr G Brown and Mrs Pollock traveling from town. Threshing progress reported with 448 bushels wheat threshed on the farm of Mr TW Armson.
