Annie Eliza Gain and William B. Gutteridge wed in a small ceremony at the Brooks residence on a recent Tuesday evening. Rev J. Scott officiated with close family present. The bride wore white Japanese silk and carried white chrysanthemum. guests included cousins Bella Gutteridge and Chas Brooks. A wedding supper followed with singing and recitations by the bridegroom’s nieces. the couple will reside at their new home.
At the home of Mr and Mrs John Murray Hamiota on Wednesday November under Rev H G Crozier of Knox Church Hamiota Miss E J Murray eldest daughter of the couple married Mr Alfred J Elliott of Humboldt Sask The bride wore a pearl grey gown trimmed with chiffon lace and pearl gray piping
The Hamista Grain Growers Association met in Orange Hall with about thirty members. They endorsed the mayor and citizens for sending a joint delegation to Winnipeg that secured about twenty five cars for wheat in three days. The group thanked the C P R for more cars and formed a vigilance committee of David Meir D Whyte and R W Brethour. Members voted to send samples of low grade wheat to Ottawa and urged Dr Roche to support provincial legislation. They reported trouble with C P R car doors and advised members to refuse payment unless compelled.
Miss Annie Murray served as bridesmaid while the bride wore a veil and bouquets of bridal roses and chrysanthemums. San Toy and Hector Patterson supported the groom as the ceremony took place under an arch of roses and Hollyhock. Guests enjoyed a dainty fowl supper and many presents were given to the bride before Mr. and Mrs. Elliott depart for Humbolt with settler effects.
