Woodworth Council Accepts Fire Dept Resignations
The RM of Woodworth held a special meeting on Oct 22 1996 and accepted with regret the resignations of Fire Chief Bill Drake Firefighter Ward Drake and Radio Operator Linda Drake. Reeves and Administrator authorized to sign gravel road maintenance agreement. Council passed a resolution exchanging jurisdiction of the corresponding territory.

The Hamiota District Health Auxiliary met in October with 13 members and eight districts represented. President Shirley Richardson chaired. Secretary Margaret Simms and Treasurer Marlene Murray attended and reports from committees were approved. A Community Literacy Needs Assessment Group letter was read seeking help with formation. Gwen Snell will speak next meeting.

Hamiota Lions report a CNIB canvass raised 2100.75 for the organization and a 1000.00 Lions Foundation grant to buy a scooter for a local adult with a disability. The zone meeting inducted Dwayne Campbell and Ed Smith as Lions.
