Kids go to work for national Take Our Kids To Work day
Sandra Cowling took her daughter Lindsey to Armstrong Agencies in Hamiota as part of Take Our Kids To Work. Hamiota Senior 1 students joined the program, spending the day at a parent or adult friend’s workplace while French classmates visited local residents. The Learning Partnership organized the event, part of National Career Week.

Baseball enthusiast inducted into Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame
Allan Robertson of Hamiota is inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame at the 18th annual Induction Dinner in Winnipeg on Saturday November 15. The event at the Winnipeg Convention Centre features an auction, reception at 6 00 p.m. and dinner at 7 15 with the induction ceremony to follow. Exam results reflect strengths and weaknesses in Manitoba
Education Minister Linda McIntosh says province wide exams help identify student strengths and areas needing improvement. Results released for Grade 3 Math, Senior 4 Language Arts, and Senior 4 Math with detailed School and Division reports. Senior 4 results show English Language Arts pass rate 79.6 percent, average 64.3 percent. Math 40S 56.4 percent pass, average 54.4. Math 40G 79 percent pass, average 64.6. Exams count for 30 percent of final marks, with officials urging shared review among boards, administrators, teachers and parents.
