Routledge Handi-Arm Aims to Ease Farm Work and Boost Safety

Lenore area inventor Routledge, now in Virden, designed the Routledge Handi- Arm to attach to older grain truck end gates. The device reduces grain dust exposure and back strain, features a center door coupler and a visible safety flag. Patents are pending in the US and Canada, with sales through Miniota Farm Equipment and several co-ops. His Handi-Arm won second place in a national farming innovations contest in Ontario among about 100 entries.

Manitoba Extends Protection for Used Car Buyers

Manitoba announces a national Stolen and Wrecked Vehicles Monitoring Program to help used car shoppers verify vehicle histories before purchase. The system links to a Canada wide registry showing stolen, irreparable, repairable, or rebuilt statuses via the TOD on the registration document. Salvage inspections will be done by accredited shops to ensure safety and deter VIN fraud.
