Stow Grain Opens Elgin Elevatorless Centre in Manitoba

The Elgin Manitoba Stow Grain Railroad Centre opened October 25 as the province's first elevatorless grain facility. It features a high throughput loading tower, automatic weighing, six large bins storing 24 000 bushels, a 14 car siding, and is linked to Graysville and Winnipeg offices. The project costs about $500 000 and scales grain delivery to farmers with lower capital needs than traditional elevators.
