Robbery Attempt Ends With Wet Bandits Behind Bars
Manitoba police report an attempted motel robbery at Mountain Motor Inn in Stonewall. Two men in a grey Chevy pickup fled after failing to pay for gas at Abas Esso, were chased, ditched their vehicle in a water filled ditch, and were captured on foot. Cpl. Ken Amirault of the Stonewall RCMP detachment noted the incident and subsequent arrests. Dale Abas, Esso manager, questioned the repeated gas stops that night.

Hamiota curling stalwart honored as life member
