Watt named Jets head coach signals new NHL trend
The Jets hire Tom Watt from Toronto Blues fame as head coach amid a shift toward younger, college and European trained leaders. Veteran coaches like Cherry and McVie face reduced chances as teams seek teaching oriented leaders with broader game knowledge. Watt, known for teaching, European exposure, and a mathematics background, is expected to relate to players and drive future wins.
