Cereal grains offer extra feed sources for Manitoba crops
Agricultural notes by John Patterson outline cereal grains as a supplementary forage option. Oats and millet provide early pasture, with foxtail and Prose varieties differing in maturity and quality. Winter cereals like fall rye, winter triticale, and oats can yield greenfeed or pasture, while weed control in field peas and Roundup Ready canola are discussed alongside fertilizer guidance and cutworm management. Patterson, Manitoba representative for Hamiota, can be reached at 764-2767.
