Grace Rebekah Lodge members attended the Rebekah Assembly in Winnipeg in March led by Margaret Boyd and Jean Morton. The April 6 District No. 14 meeting in Hamiota featured visitors from Rapid City Minnedosa Oak River and others with Joyce Henderson of Flin Flon visiting as Assembly President. The evening highlighted the President’s message on the dandelion symbol and included entertainment by Seven Old Ladies and a ceramic bear music box gift for the Assembly President.

High Energy Cancer Treatment Unit Approved in Manitoba
Manitoba Health Minister Larry Desjardins announced the purchase of a new high energy radiotherapy unit and replacement of an older unit for the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation. The project costs total 3.7 million dollars, funded by borrowing, with 217 300 dollars in 1987-88 operating estimates. Site selection is undecided between St Boniface General Hospital and the M R MacCharles unit, due to rising cancer cases.

June Bride Honoured Shower in Chumah Hall
A May 2 shower at Chumah Hall honored Carolyn Moggach bride elect of June 13. Mrs. Wayne Mathison provided music while Janice Mac Donald led the guestbook.
