CPIC seeks excess ACRE funds amid tire program success
CPIC requested that ACRE surrender accumulated funds from the pesticide container and waste program. The Used Tire Management Program, funded by a $3 levy on new tire sales, has recycled about 200,000 tires from 16 rural landfills with government and industry partnering for environmental gains. Local governments receive 50 cents per tire to keep tires from the waste stream.
