Chappells Greenhouse Opens in Hamiota Area
Betty and Bill Chappell begin their second year with a new greenhouse on SE 24-15-23W seven miles north of Hamiota. The 3,000 square foot operation, open daily hours, hosts a grand opening on May 11 from 10 am to 8 pm with door prizes, coffee, and donuts provided by the Hamiota Economic Development Committee.

Bosiak expands business to Hamiota
Lloyd Bosiak of Shoal Lake expands L. and B. Electronics and Appliances into the former Hamiota Fire Hall near the village office. He will service televisions VCRs and appliances and act as Prairie Communications agent selling two way radios with installations and minor servicing. He works in Hamiota Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays 9 00 am to 5 00 pm and makes service calls. He has been in business since 1972 and in Shoal Lake seven years.

Gordon Killoh Honored Posthumously by Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame
Gordon Killoh is inducted onto the Roll of Honour by the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame for lifelong service in Hamiota and McConnell. He led the Swine and Calf Clubs, chaired 4-H judging classes, served with the McConnell Fat Stock Association, and contributed to the Hamiota Agricultural Society and local boards until his death in 1992.
