Reverend Sterling Brown urges faith as a divine gift shaping lives. The piece cites Matthew 8 5 Mark 2 4 and a blood flow story to illustrate faith's healing power. It also tells of a doctor patient exchange and Muriel Lesters relaxation prayer to renew strength through resting in the Lord.
The Hamiota United Church Executive Council held an April 11 1988 meeting with 12 members present. Reports covered finances worship and education while new workshop pilots and AVEL Winnipeg branch support were discussed.
Robins on the lawn numbered twenty four at one time. Eva Lee received a good eye report after cataract surgery in Brandon. Krafts held a Tuesday lounge meeting with bingo and lunch. Frank and Wally Hunter installed a new main entrance door. We thank the Park Residence board for its work. Wednesday seniors exercised in the lounge and formed the group Seniors Exercising. Mrs Heise is in Hamiota Hospital but hopes to return soon. Rev Jack Ballatine-Dickson visited. Wilda Oberlin and Wendy Bell provide baths and foot care. Church service Thursday featured David Kai Marley singing and piano for hymns. A note of gratitude to others who help, and thanks to caretakers Frank and Ellen. A new great granddaughter was born April 29 to Wayne and Colleen Robertson, Laura Lee, weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces.
