Thank You to Williams at Lavinia Community tribute
On April 20 1988 about forty five people gathered at Don and Eleanor Hawkins to honor Roy Williams for lifelong service to Lavinia. Muriel Williams surprised as they were welcomed with boutonniere and corsage. Glen Bridge recounted Roy and his father Doc and thanked them for years of service and maintenance of community life. A keepsake anvil inscription and coffee mug were given. The shed featured a picture of Doc in the shop.

Finishing Touch opens in Lloydminster Alberta
The Finishing Touch Decorating Centre, led by manager Bruce Kilborn and Marrieann, celebrated a Grand Opening on Saturday April 16. Sun and cool breeze drew many visitors as the store showcased C I L paints and stains, wall coverings, windows, tile, and decorating supplies with staff guidance. CKSA covered the event and Marrieann’s brother Terry phoned from Dallas with congratulations. Attendees included Rae Castle, Marrieann’s mother, and Bob Curtis of Kenton.

4-H Achievement Night Honors 4-Hers in Manitoba
Seventeen members of the Merry 4-Hers received ribbons at Achievement Night on April 12, marking Manitoba 4-H 75th anniversary. Trevor Shewfelt served as M D for the evening as speeches, certificates, a dress revue, and a 75th anniversary cake highlighted the event. Regional and Brandon Regionals winners were named with Julie Clark advancing to Provincial Finals in Portage in August.
