The Hamiota Memorial Rink hosted a Friday ice show and carnival with seven Carnival classes judged by Ruth McConnell Ida Mc Connell and Eleanor Miller. Winners included Dale Little Mark Robinson Kenny Kirk Lori Galatiuk Kerry Robertson and Desmond Little across ages, plus a King and Queen of Hearts pair Linda Hoskins and Bonnie Allan.

C E S Meet Royal York Chapter No 30 Eastern Star held March 9 in Ukranian Hall Shoal Lake. Dorothy Hudson chaired in absence of Worthy Matron Marjorie Hadland. Member Hilda Feasley of Winnipeg passed away. Caroline Menzies of Calgary spoke on Australia links and invited Calgary members to attend. Card party planned March 27 at 8 PM. Tea Bazaar and Bake sale set for May 15. 150 cancer pads sent to Winnipeg Cancer Clinic. donations of sheets requested via Avis Cassell, Oretta Pahl, and Louise Andrew.

Hamiota Band Seeks Instructors and Honors
Hamiota Band met March 12 with about 12 members. Motion to hire one or two Brandon University instructors for private and group lessons alongside Mrs Iverson. Plan to award a trophy to a deserving Grade XII band member on graduation night. Regular meeting moved to April 9. Fifteen attended the Brandon University Band program. conductor James Mendenhall praised the repertoire.

The World Day of Prayer program on March 5 at 3 00 pm in Hamiota featured Latin America theme Education For All of Life. Skits by Pentecostal Anglican and United Church illustrated poverty relationships and repression with music and a circle closing prayer.

The HAMIOTA A 4 H Bonspiel took place March 13 14 with 24 rinks including Rivers Oak River McConnell Miniota and Hamiota. Lynn Mac Donald led the winning rink. A Pot Luck supper was held Saturday night in Chumah Hall drawing 175 attendees.
