Snowmobile Derby Draws Big Crowd and Proceeds
The Cardale Snowmobile Derby sponsored by the hockey club took place Sunday March 21 at the rink attracting 116 eateries. Gross profits totaled 888.50 with items including Derby 726.00 perfume 74.00 and snowmobile ornament 88.50. Perfume donated by Garnet Hyndman and won by Arnold Fortune. Snowmobile ornament donated by Jean Fortune and won by Mildred Shaw. First place Allan Dennison Cardale. second Bill Bradley Strathclair. third Ken Tarton Brandon. Other winners included Jean Dennison oldest lady Lawrence Short oldest man Mike Kerr youngest driver and Don Kerr.
