Manitobans can view their phone bills online through oe Telecom Services nc offered by MTS Net. The service provides quick confidential access and allows downloading into spreadsheets. Residential and small to medium business customers with bills under 20 units can use the system via the MTS home page.
The RM of Miniota council designated the July 24 to 27 1997 summer bonspiel weekend as a community event. Lee was appointed to replace Larry Walker to attend the Mayors and Reeves meeting in Birtle. Other actions included tax sale date set for Nov 10 1997 approvals for culverts from Armtec leasing and fuel contracts, and a truck tender approved.
Ashley Schweitzer reports on February 16 at the Hamiota Municipal Office where beginning beef members and president Trevor Peters presented speeches. Myrna led an awards meeting. Krissy Yanick and Richard Harris earned recognitions. The club planned two rinks for the Miniota bon spiel on February 22 and held a March 9 meeting with Krissy Yanick presenting on Late Night and district speaking results. A winning rink of Trevor Peters, Stacey Schweitzer, Ashley Schweitzer and Stacie Lockhart placed first in Miniota. Members viewed a slide show on needle care for beef animals. A March 15 tour included Douglas test station and Bar 5 at Keystone Centre, followed by washing and clipping for sale and dinner at Pizza Hut. The annual bingo and dance is set for April 18, with the next meeting on April 13 at 7:00 p.m.
The L.U.D. of Oak River held a regular meeting on March 10 1997. Public notices on water plant and lift station upgrades were issued February 12 with no inquiries. Budget discussions covered 1997 operations, foreman duties, student employment grants were reviewed, and nominations and resignations noted.
