A Friday meeting in the council chambers explored forming a new board of trade after two years without one. The mayor chaired, P.O. Wm Romer named secretary treasurer pro tem, and many attendees supported creation of the body to aid town advancement. A March 27 follow up meeting was set to draft definite plans.
A. M. Crandell announces a March sale to reduce his stock. J. H. M. Connell is to hold the event on a Saturday. Posters promise top quality horses and cattle from the district, urging advertising of the sale.
At the meeting's end refreshments were served and attendees enjoyed the time. Mr Squibb performed a solo and, with Mrs Brooks, a duet that workshop participants greatly appreciated.
Editor urges publication of by law sections from The Public School Act No 91 charter 143 page 43 on asset disposition after district merger. Explains debts fall to original district and proceeds fund debts, with excess held for merged district ratepayers. Also notes Eight Annual Convention of Manitoba Educational Association March 21–23 1913 in Winnipeg with Dr. S. A. McLean address and sectional meetings on Reading, Composition, Spelling, Arithmetic, and demonstrations. Transportation by rail offered for attendees.
