World Day of Prayer Held at Hamiota Pentecostal Church
The World Day of Prayer service took place at the Pentecostal Church in Hamiota on Friday March 3 at 2 00 pm with the Pan African Leadership Course for women at Mindelo Ecumenical Foundation Kitwe Zambia shaping the theme Spiritual Growth. A reunion planning Oak River Collegiate 1961 to 1967 and Oak River Elementary School 1929 were noted with July events and a fellowship lunch.

Province Approves 100000 Grant for Museum Exhibit Plan
The province approves a 100000 grant to the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature to back a five year exhibit development plan begun in 1974 75. The province will match two dollars for every one raised by the museum up to 100000 in any year.

Pharmacare Deductible Raised for under 65 in Manitoba
The Pharmacare deductible for under 65s and families rises from 50 to 75 dollars starting with the 1979 benefit year. Manitoba Health Services Commission will cover 80 percent of drug costs above 75 for those 64 and younger, while 65+ retain the 50-dollar deductible.

Chumah Ladies Club Meets at Doris Pollock Home
The Chumah Ladies Club met March 6 at Doris Pollock's home with 16 members present. Janie Lewis led devotion on Prayer from Luke 2 1 13. hymns 356 and 502 were sung. Myra Preston read from The Way It Is. A nearly finished afghan was moved by Dorothy Amy with Betty Smith seconding. Members sold tickets for a charity project and shared handicrafts before lunch.
