Gordon Long of Miniota succeeds him as a board member. current members are listed. The Hamiota AB hockey club defeated Neepawa 5-3 to clinch a 10-8 total point series, advancing to the provincial semi finals against Thompson ABs. Dennis Anderson Bruce Johnston and Don Sheridan led with goals and assists as Jeff Sheardown and Greg Kirk added goals.

Hamiota Hosts Junior High Invitational Basketball Day
Hamiota Auditory m hosted a team field from Kenton Souris Earl Oxford Deloraine Rivers and Shoal Lake for a full day of junior high basketball. Kenton beat Rivers 15 10 in the opener while Hamiota crushed Deloraine 32 5. Kenton edged Shoal Lake 20 2 and clinched the day with a dramatic late Pedlow shot giving Hamiota the championship trophy.

U C W Meet At Routledge Home On March 5
The U C W met at Mrs. Jim Routledge’s home with twelve members present. Devotional led by Mrs. Bates and Mrs. Anderson focused on Easter themes. A letter from Mrs. Rankin in Rome was read and a UCW Presbyterial report noted. A bake sale is planned for Saturday April 11 in the community room.

Shower Held for Cardale Bride Elect Laurie Campbell
A miscellany shower at Cardale United Church honored Laurie Campbell on March 5 as she awaits her March 7 Edmonton wedding. Mrs. Ann Koscinny and Mrs. Evelyn Cowan escorted the bride and her mother respectively. Marguerite Waddell read the address, Audrey Kirk led the guest book, and gifts were presented in Irish St Patrick theme. Laurie thanked guests and invited visits to Edmonton after the event. About 50 guests attended and Mildred Shawn read a husband preserving piece before a dainty lunch.
