Farmer's Market in Hamiota closes after six years
Ten members of the Hamiota and District Farmer's Market met on February six to vote to disband. The market opened in 1989 with 14 days that year and ran annually to 1995, holding two November markets. Vendors report total sales near 84 thousand dollars from 78 markets. 19 people held memberships, led by Ethel Robertson who missed only three markets. The group thanks customers, the town, and volunteers, and notes vendors will continue selling from farms and local outlets.
