Newdale District Notes of Visits and Local Events
Sunday visitors from Brandon and B C Alba joined Mary Martin while M Esplin and the Greenaways from Cardale visited. Minnedosa and Brandon residents were mentioned with health wishes for Mrs Millie Young in Minnedosa Hospital. OC gatherings included W I Day at the Community Center with games and lunch and a regular W I meeting at Harrison House. An Odd Fellows whist party drew nineteen attendees with prize winners listed. Boat Show plans in Winnipeg featured Bill Everitt and Iris Ferris. Congratulations were posted for Doug Lawrence on his newborn son and for a great grandmother with thirty young.

Successful whist drive by Newdale 4-H Club
Newdale Newda le 4-H Club met after school on February 19 to canvass for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Ten families hosted parties with about 135 participants. Winners included Jean Wight and Myrtle St. John among others. Members shared speeches on Edmonton trip Russell wedding and other topics. Next meetings and events planned with leader training on February 25 and March 18 gathering.

Happy Gang met at Newdale on February 19 at 7 30 p m with 18 answering roll call discussing past or present Newdale. Next meeting will feature a speaker on Ash Wednesday. Minutes from February 5 read and adopted. Ida Bradley chaired with Mary Martin second. Treasurer reported no cards sent. Birthday wishes to Ann Patterson. Olive Waddell praised the program and lunch committee. Leonard Bradley adjourned. Card bingo produced winners including Don Watson Mary Martin Ida Bradley Minnie Hogarth Maime Esplin Doris Waddell Fred St John Dorothy Ray Leonard Bradley Myrtle St John Gwen Lawrence Hazel Andreychuk Nellie Mason. Dorothy Ray served lunch. Gordon and Edith Waddell storm stayed so beans could not be served.

The Newdale Health Aid held a February 13 meeting at Harrison House starting 2:00 p.m. with nine members. Minutes, treasurer, and district auxiliary reports were reviewed. A membership drive fundraiser planned for April 2 at Drop Inn Centre, and Florence Nightingale Tea discussed with committees formed.
