Thomson and Emerson Elevated to CP Rail Vice Presidents
D S Thomson is named vice-president with jurisdiction over all Canadian Pacific lines, announced by N R Crump who is now president. R A Emerson becomes vice-president of operation and maintenance, succeeding Thomson. Thomson, a second generation CP employee, led maintenance of CP R’s 17,019 mile network since 1953. Emerson, a third generation employee, was chief engineer from 1951 until his appointment.
