Euphemia G Brown died at home on July 2 1955 at Block F2 RC A F Station Saskatoon aged 36. Funeral Monday July 4 at 3 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home chapel conducted by Rev W J Lord RCAP chaplain. Survived by husband Arthur G Brown three daughters Geraldine Marjorie Thelma and son George and her parents Mr and Mrs W R Norton of Calgary. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery Saskatoon.
Mr. Jack Lewis of Winnipeg remained at home during the holiday weekend. Meanwhile Mr. Harry Andrew visited his brother, Constable Ted Andrew, in Qu’Appelle Saskatchewan.
Residents from Winnipeg and area spent the weekend visiting friends and attending events. A summer school participant from Gimli and moves to a new home near Eber are noted. The school picnic featured a prize draw, a student council dance, and a hosted address to Mr. and Mrs. Pennycooke with several locals in attendance.
Dates to remember show entry deadlines for Hamiota Fair July 13 and Harding Fair July 15 with a one day prior drop off at the secretary. Oak River Fair is scheduled for July 21 and entries should be submitted accordingly.
The Hamiota Women's Conservative Association will hold a garden party at the W. W. Cochrane farm on July 20 at 3 p.m. Guest speakers are being arranged and all interested are urged to attend. For transportation call 24 or 53. Further details next week.
