HAMIOTA June 2 Senior Picnic draws over 350 attendees at Souris with bus tour barge ride games bingo a concert and a noon meal for 1 25. Ethel Robertson notes 6 from Hamiota attended. evening Scottish Ceilidh at Royal Oak Inn featured 34 from Hamiota with 16 in group.
Folklorama tours for August by Gwen Snell Recreation Director include two three day bus trips from Midwest Recreation District. August 4-6 visits Place Louis Riel Ex perimental Farm Brandon Legislative Buildings Grant's Old Mill Harbor View and more with gourmet Folklorama passes meals taxes tips and gratuities priced at 280 per person. August 14-16 includes Wildlife Museum Paddlewheel Princess Royal Winnipeg Ballet school Rainbow Stage Guys and Dolls and similar inclusions with same price and deadlines. SWAN RIVER SWAN VALLEY hosted the Tenth Annual MSOS 55 Plus Games June 16 18 1992 with the largest entry since the Games began. Westman Region earned 11 gold 7 silver and 4 bronze across events in Swan River Minitonas Kenville and Bowsman. Betty Thomson Dorothy Foster Elsie Robert and Pat McTavish led trophy totals with multiple medals in Fine Arts Prediction Walk Golf and other events. 1993 Games are set for Steinbach June 22 24.
HAMIOTA reports growing crowds at annual HCI Awards event and outlines parking steps. Attendants will direct cars at HCI and Gregory lot. reserved spots for limited mobility. banquet participants in North Parking. others on roads south of HCI and grounds south of the Auditorium. overflow on 2nd St North. RCMP to assist safe departure. carpooling urged for reduced congestion and a "Safe Grad" on June 26.
The Crandall area hosted the annual hospital auxiliary supper meeting on June 9 with 89 guests. Officers welcomed attendees, a blessing and toast were offered, and Georgina Brown received a past-president pin. Volunteers and youth received recognition as Four of a Kind performed, with new meals-on-wheels coordinator sought.
The 67th Commencement at North Dakota State University Bottineau was held on May 16. One hundred twenty five students earned degrees diplomas or certificates including Cory Smith of Hamiota who gained an Associate in Science in Physical Education. The campus offers transfer programs and nineteen vocational curriculums with 443 full time equivalent enrollments.
