Disaster exercise planned at Hamiota Health Centre
Hamiota District Health Centre will host a simulated disaster exercise on Friday June 23 1989 at about 2 00 p m under Manitoba Emergency Health Services and Manitoba Health Services Commission. A mock accident with casualties will be staged with victims brought to the hospital and all emergency activities enacted. External agencies including the Hamiota R C M P will carry out duties outside the hospital.

Walk-a-Thon Bike-a-Thon a Success in Hamiota
A cloudy morning gave way to a successful 13 mile walk and bike event on Highway 21 to Oakner and back. Fifty two participants finished the trek with early riders completing the route in 1 hour 15 minutes. The day aimed to raise over 2000 dollars with prizes donated by local businesses and meals by Weston’s Manco Hostess Old Dutch. Volunteers and organizers received thanks from the committee and participants.
