She posted a 258 over 54 holes to top the girls 17 and under and secure a berth to the Optimist World Junior regional qualifier in St. Cloud Minnesota on June 27. Kate, 15, is granddaughter of Alex and Nora Kirk of Hamiota and often practices at Hamiota Golf Course, signaling a bright future in the sport.
