Weed Control District forms with full time supervisor program
A Weed Control District may be formed by one or more municipalities to run a full time Weed Control Program. Participating towns appoint two representatives to a Weed Control Board which operates under the Noxious Weeds Act with funding from municipalities and the Manitoba Department of Agriculture. The board hires a full time Weed Control Supervisor to lead an extensive educational program, field days, demonstrations, and public property weed control, while enforcing weed laws on private property. The supervisor conducts farm calls, surveys, plot demonstrations, equipment upgrades, and public meetings, offering services to any resident in the district.
