Council seeks upgrade of access road to BirdTail Sioux Reserve

The Rural Municipality of Miniota council met July 14 and asked the Minister of Highways to arrange a meeting with Indian Affairs to discuss upgrading the access road from Highway 83 to the Birdtail Sioux Reserve. The council also authorized mailing license documents for drainage work and approved funding for Crandall Cemetery from Perpetual Care funds. An agreement with Woodworth RM covers a one year trial of shared road grading and snowplowing along east sides of 32-12-25 W and 6-13-25 W. The council granted Marine Pipeline permission to temporarily close undeveloped road allowances for construction with restoration after completion. The small equipment committee will review a mower need for the August meeting. The document contains unrelated discussion on anger in relationships by psychologist John Gottman.
