Hodge and Fulton to be inducted into Hall of Fame
Brandon reports the Twelfth Annual Dedication Ceremony of the Manitoba Agricultural Hall of Fame Inc. will honor Dr. Andy Hodge of Hamiota and Marion Fulton of Birtle at the Hamiota Community Centre on August 8. Registration starts at 1 340 p.m. with the program at 2 00 p.m. The event includes entertainment and lunch.

Curry Family Reunion in Winnipeg Celebrates Manitoba Roots
One hundred forty Curry family members from Kenton and Manitoba gathered July 9 1988 at Roblin Park Community Centre Winnipeg for a third Curry reunion. Surviving siblings Enid Bates Maurice Curry Bert Curry and Eileen Kent attended along with relatives from Prince George Calgary Red Deer Regina Waterloo Maui and many Manitoba communities. A color coded leaf tree photo display a smorgasbord lunch and entertainment marked the afternoon with memories and photos arranged by Lorna Curtis Joy McKenzie and others.

Anniversary celebrated at family supper in Hamiota
Jim and Mary Musgrove were honored at a July 22 family supper in Hamiota for their 40th wedding anniversary. Relatives joining included Deb and Rick Piskor of Victoria BC, Brad Musgrove of Edmonton, Joan Metcalf of Erickson, Kathleen Musgrove of Hamiota, and Murray and Elaine Musgrove with Scott and Kerri. Wes Musgrove of Hinton AB could not attend. gifts and flowers arrived from Hinton relatives. The gathering continued with weekend visits, horseback riding, golf and swimming.

Cochrane Beamish Reunion Marks 40th Anniversary
The 40th annual Cochrane Beamish Reunion was held July 16 and 17 at the Fair Grounds in Hamiota. 81 signed the guest book, with a barbecue, golf, church service, roses and carnations in memory of the departed, photo album viewing, games for children, and a picnic supper featuring an anniversary cake cut by Ralph Cochrane and Jack Beamish Sr.

Hamiota Mites win Mermaid League title in hard final
The Hamiota Mites under ten girls claim the Mite Division crown by defeating Shoal Lake in the final. They later played in tournaments in Hamiota Shoal Lake and Strathclair, wearing new Petro Canada shirts and hats donated by DeBins Service Station.
