Hamiota Fair Draws Crowd Despite Slim Attendance
The 96th annual Hamiota exhibition kicked off with a 500 attendance pancake breakfast then a parade led by the Hamiota School Band and 50 floats. Pet show notes included a bee and earthworm, while funds from the Grandstand Show and an appaloosa sale supported a new rink.

In the Annual Senior Men's Tournament at Hamiota Golf Club on July 20, W. Lee won the Championship Flight with 74. Max Parker followed at 76 and J. Jamieson and A. Oakden shared third with 78. First Flight winner Larry Korncil posted 85, with Jack Geeks also at 85 for second. Jim Wood and Walter Kool led the other flights with top scores.
