Manitoba reports 190 infectious hepatitis cases in a month, total for the year reached 1,241 versus 304 in 1969. Rubella outbreaks are spreading province wide with 526 cases in June, over 1,000 by month end, mirroring a North American trend. Noted risk remains for pregnant women.
A McConnell King family reunion took place at Robert King’s home on Manitoba's Centennial Day July 15 with 49 relatives present. Attendees included D G McNeil of West Vancouver B C and Mrs W R Wilson of Goderish Ontario along with Dallas King and son Robert of North Bay Ontario and others from Winnipeg McConnell Hamiota Oakner Lenore Minnedosa Beulah Inglis and Cardale. Mrs McNeil celebrated her birthday during the event. A buffet supper was served on the lawn followed by a social evening.
Winnipeg Manitoba Industry and Commerce has issued the 1970 Manitoba Trade Directory its 16th edition. It lists more than 3 000 manufacturers and distributors with 14 500 copies distributed to firms agencies and government departments in Canada the United States and overseas. The four section directory includes manufacturers products distributors and their products.
