Neepawa Arts Festival Draws Family Attendance
Art enthusiasts from Hamliota and Kenton spent two weeks at Manitoba Festival of the Arts in Neepawa. They pitched tents despite poor weather, moved after Riverbend Park flooded, and joined adult, children's art, and music courses. Lieut Governor John McKeag and wife visited. festival praised for busy classes and city facilities.

Hamiota knotched a 4 4 tie against the Canadian Nationals as Shepherd Aroujo Hemstead and Bouchy from Dauphin contributed key hits. Ron Ramsey excelled on the mound allowing five hits in seven innings, while Bouchy homered in the fourth and Caldwell shuffled on the mound. Rain halted play after eight innings.

A June 19 shower for Miss Linda Sunley was held at 2 p.m. in Decker Church lower Auditorium. Linda was escorted to her chair by Mrs. Norma Knight and others as Cheryl Decker provided music and Barbara Lints led the program. The decor featured a wagon of gifts and Beth Johns and Laurie Sunley helped with arrangements. Linda thanked guests before a luncheon served by the committee.

A bus load of four H members from South Dakota arrived in Hamiota on July 5 for a few days of district visits. Members met with host families and program leaders, including Mr. Fred Barkley Ag Rep, and enjoyed a weiner roast and ball game organized by Wendell Wight at Shoal Lake Narrows on July 8.
W. J. Meet McConnell Picnic At Lake Audy
The W. L. held a July 18 picnic at Lake Audy to mark their 25th anniversary. Eight members attended with husbands and families, enjoying a smorgasbord supper. Children and adults raced, a peanut scramble entertained the crowd, and boats were used for rides with Mr. Andy Little and Mr. Mack Hamilton taking many for a spin and fishing also occurred.
