John Morrice Laid to Rest in Hamiota
John Morrice aged 84 of Hamiota Manitoba died July 14 in Hamiota Hospital and was buried July 16 at Hamiota Cemetery after funeral services at Hamiota United Church. He came to Canada from Aberdeenshire Scotland in 1914 and farmed until retirement in 1943. He is survived by wife Mary and three children plus a sister in England. honorary pallbearers and active pallbearers are listed.

A large 4 H Rally was held at Oak River on Monday July 11 with 389 members 81 leaders and 31 clubs represented. The Oak River Agricultural Society Eaton's of Canada and Manitoba Department of Agriculture sponsored the event. Margaret Leland Arrow River Sewing Club and Robert Reid Shoal Lake Calf Club received Eaton's Gold Watches. Marlene James Decker was crowned Rally queen with princesses Marilyn McTavis Cardale and Dorothy McLennan Birtle.
