Peace Gardens Trip Highlights Senior Citizens Tour
A bus trip carrying 29 seniors from Cardale and Oak River visited the International Peace Gardens arriving at 11 15 with a guided tour by Mr Howard the Superintendent. They saw the 1930s log building the 1966 amphitheatre the music camp area with 38 buildings 450 beds and a 200 seat dining hall. Lunch was at the OES picnic grounds Lake Stormon and a North Side tour followed. Lake Stormon is 18 ft deep and the gardens feature a Whiskey Trail and a 1 1/2 mile hiking path.
