The June 10 1975 Hamiota council reviewed May 1975 finances with total taxes collected 27635 35 and miscellaneous receipts 3658 01 totaling 31273 36. They approved a new 32 by 2 foot community centre sign costing 221 04 and discussed licensing, Hydro rates, and building permits.
Hamiota congregations held a joint service on June 10 at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Herb Lynas with helpers. Three choirs sang. A 3:00 p.m. crowd gathered at the fairgrounds despite heavy rain, enjoying games, pavilion visits, and a 5:00 p.m. picnic supper.
Dennis Anderson pitched a no hitter against the Grandview Lakers, striking out a few and allowing one Laker to reach third. Ramsey and Knight sparked strong defense, while errors were limited to three. The Sox won 5-0, their fourth victory in nine games, all earned by Anderson. Bob Young led at the plate with a double and a single.
Mr and Mrs Henry Hayhurst celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at their Sandy Lake summer cottage. Corsages were given by Jocelyn Hayhurst, a two tier cake featured at the center, and toasts were offered by Mrs Catherine Hayhurst of Victoria. Attending guests included relatives from Hudson Bay The Pas Victoria Winnipeg Wawanesa Rapid City Oak River Minnedosa and Watrous with one brother absent.
