McConnell 4 H Beef Club Meeting Report and Plans
On January 16 the McConnell 4 H Beef Club met at Mr. and Mrs. Bill The McConnell residence. The group discussed attending the Shoal Lake bonspiel and possibly sending two rinks. Ryan Bridge reported on the Rivers Bonspiel and members prepared for an April ticket draw with a $50 prize. Each member delivered a 75 second speech and lunch was served by Mrs. Chappell.

Rebekah Lodge Officers Installed in Hamiota
Rebekah Lodge in Hamiota installed officers led by Mrs. Vivian Sharpe District Deputy President with staff from Deborah No. 9 Rapidom Jr. Past Noble Grand Mrs. Les Reid and others. Eight members received year jewels and six earned 35 year pins. Lodge sponsored a fire loss relief collection sending about $265 to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ridley.

HAMIOTA The Minor Bantam Devils beat Brandon AA's 3-1 and Neepawa 8-2 to stay atop the league. Thomas Heapy scored twice and added an assist, with Mac Doupe and Alan Dixon assisting. Coupe led with three goals as Robertson, Dixon and Radcliffe added assists. The club hosts Brandon for its final league game with an 8-1-0 run noted and travels to Angusville for a 14 and under tournament.

W.M. Annual Meeting Reports 1978 Growth and 1979 Officers
The W.M. group held its annual meeting in the Pentecostal Church basement on January 11. Pastor L. Beck chaired the election of officers, with Mrs. L. Beck named honorary president. New officers include Anne Davisson as president and Audrey Gurr as vice president, plus secretary treasurer Gwen Taylor and committees for visitation and social concerns. A Bible study on Wisdom followed, then prayer before adjournment and lunch.

On January 15 the Hamiota 4 H Mechanics Club Piston Pushers reorganized with Ward Dixon as Chairman Bruce Kennel as Vice President Ron Routledge as Secretary Treasurer Paul Robinson as Press Reporter and leaders Mr Denny Kirk and Mr Art Dixon. Paul Routledge received the Oakner Pool Elevator 4H trophy for best display at the 4H Achievement Day. Next meeting set for January 30 at Ward Dixon's house new members aged 9 to 18 welcome.
