Livestock drought aid deadline extended to 1989
The Canada Manitoba Livestock Drought Assistance program extends the application deadline from December 15 1988 to January 31 1989. Agriculture Canada and Manitoba Agriculture announced the move on January 16. Forms are available from Manitoba Agriculture and rural municipalities. A review committee will address payment rate adjustments for municipalities alleging drought conditions are underrepresented. Hamiota Donor's Choice Campaign Planned for Spring

Kenton 4-H Dairy Club Holds January Meeting
The Kenton 4-H Dairy Club met January 9, 1989 at Darlene Hunter’s home with Amber Hunt as reporter. Teams were formed for the Kenton Kraftsmen and Miniota bonspiels, a battle drive was planned for January 16, and February 4 cow judging trip to Brandon was announced with the next meeting February 13.
