Hamiota 10 and under ringette, despite no league, has held exhibitions. They defeated Strathclair once and lost twice, tied Shilo then won, and beat Deloraine Brandon and Decker in other games. Christmas Cantata Bids Farewell to Rev. G House
On December 15 at Holy Trinity Church the Children's Service featured a Cantata Christmas Song. Rev. George House and his family were farewelled as they move to Reston Melita for pastoral charge. The service included hymn book dedication, White Gifts, solos and duets, a lunch, and a blessing from the congregation.

U C W General Meeting Reports Finances and Activities
The U C W held its annual meeting on January 8 1986 in the Choir Room with 16 members present. Eleanor Sedgwick chaired the meeting as officers were noted and new officers installed by Rev Dawn Ballatine Dickson. Treasurer Ev Turner reported year receipts 15090.91 expenses 15697.06 and year end balances 8137.74.

After evaluating leads a 1981 Ford window van was bought by the Handi-Transit Search for transporting up to eight passengers including one wheelchair. Minor renovations will improve safety and comfort. An application to the Manitoba Motor Vehicle Branch for a public set is underway.

Christmas Seal Donations Still Welcome in Brandon
The Manitoba Lung Association Brandon office continues to accept Christmas Seal donations for its 1985 campaign. Funds support Westman programs including asthma education, family programs, quit smoking efforts, and school materials. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8 to 4, at First Street Plaza.

Oak River Hosts City of Brandon Tournament of Champions
Oak River and district arenas host the Annual City of Brandon International Hockey Tournament of Champions Pee Wee Division from January 24 to 26. First games start 8 a.m. Friday with Shoal Lake vs Hartney and Hamiota Oak River versus Deloraine at 1:15 p.m. Official ceremonies at 8:15 p.m. Friday lead into Hamiota Oak River vs Flin Flon at 8:30 p.m. The final airs 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
