Executive officers of the Manitoba Teachers Society met in Shoal Lake on January 9 with Howard J. Loewen guiding discussion. McConnell Calf Club Plans March Variety Night
The McConnell 4H Calf Club held its fifth regular meeting on January 10. Members set March 31 for Variety Night with Smith's Orchestra providing music for the dance. Leaders handed out ticket books and conducted beef calf showmanship tests for juniors.

Grace Rebekah Lodge No. 35 installs officers on January 16 despite 30 below zero. Mrs. Kay Brooks orders the ceremony with Mrs. Ruby Mathison as deputy marshal. Elected officers include Noble Grand Shirley Dale and Vice Grand Louise Bilton. Appointed officers comprise RS N.G. Gladys Allan and others. Ruth McConnell named delegate to March Assembly Sessions. About 12 staff joined the event illustrating a great honor for the lodge.
