Hamiota U C W meets for New Year themed service
The Hamiota U C W general meeting on January 9 in the Choir Room had 12 members present. Ruth McConnell led a New Year memorial service for five members who died in 1989. The group reported a busy year with the Thrift Shop roof repaired and transport aid from Hamiota Kenton Transfer. Members sent 141 Amnesty International letters supporting 18 prisoners of conscience in several countries. New officers Edith Caldwell President Eleanor Miller Treasurer Joan Kirk 1st Vice President. A motion approved 1500 to the Church General Fund and 750 to M and S. Next meeting April 10 with Unit 1 in charge of worship.
