Manitoba Utilities Board approves 2.8% gas rate rise
The Public Utilities Board of Manitoba approved an interim 2.8 percent increase for ICG Utilities Greater Winnipeg Gas and ICG Utilities Manitoba Ltd to offset a 7.4 million dollar 1989 revenue deficit. Residential bills rise 3.5 to 4.4 percent by region with $23 to $28 yearly increases, large service up 1.7 to 2.7 percent. The board kept provincial rate differences, called for higher bad debt costs, and ordered full hearings in June while noting a prior November 1, 1989 increase tied to the 1989/90 winter.
