Weasel squeak prank ends in false alarm in Isabella District
In Isabella District last week Johnnie and Dorothy Finkbeiner woke to a squeaking in the basement. After traps and a running battle, it was revealed their culprit was a battery warning from a smoke detector. No weasel was captured. The Bonspiel was postponed due to warm weather. A broomball fundraiser is planned for March 17. Community sympathy extends to several families. A Birtle School centennial concert drew attendees. Local residents visited relatives and attended events in Brandon and across the district.
