In memory of our son William Prank Matthews who passed away February 24 1939. Our hearts remain and our eyes shed many tears. May God show how much you are missed. Forever remembered by his mother and father with love and sorrow.
Community notices list events in March including a guest speakers session with Mrs. Paul Prescott and Mr. M. Deveson, a film show, and a current events roll call led by Convenor Mrs. Jaspe. Oak River Skating Club hosts Annual Ice Revue March 1 at 8 30 pm at Oak River Memorial Rink with performances by 60 members aged 3 and up. The Womens World Day of Prayer is on March 8 at Christ Church Hamiorta. Local social items include Olive Smith visiting Winnipeg relatives and a funeral in Lonemuir. Circle No 5 hosts a St Patrick's Tea in Hamilton hall on March 16. Viola Dale wins Best Actress at the Normal School. Maureen McConnell earns a Book of Knowledge prize on KXTV. Seventy four rinks enter Hamiota bonspiel with Ted Venables as draw er. Manitoba Women’s Institute questions and a WCO meet next Tuesday March 5 welcome all, with a visit from Mrs. Paul Prescott and a demo on uncooked dainties.

Education Day will be sold to the Hamiota School on Wednesday March 6 1947. Citizens are urged to visit the school to view the children’s work and discuss school problems with staff interviews. School dismisses at 3 30 PM. Assistant notes March 3 ASST. Everyone is urged to attend.
The regular C.G.L.T affiliation of vice was held on February 20 at Hamilton Church. After the service, a worship display featured osters handwork scrapbooks and materials for Hong Kong Formosa and overseas aid. The program included a Chinese message and a mission study report. Mrs Ward presided with Mrs Gray assisting. 45.00 was given to WMS for Korean medical work in Sorea and Ravenhceu.
Health unit and the Department of Health offer polio injections for children missing doses and for expectant mothers at the United Church basement in Hamiota between 10 30 and 11 30 on the third Thursday of each month. Written permission from a family doctor is requested.
Local notes show Constable Bruce Gollier of Nelson and visitors from Altois and Con eSis attending events. Oak River Spel host house whist night March 22 with 3d admission to raise funds. Harvey Jarry Lyle Sroth Jim evens win a prize. February meeting of Ladies Club at Mrs Lobbar’s with fifteen members and three children.
UTS advertise in the Echo announces a March 21 Easter bonnet gathering at Mrs Chitf Gray s home. WI met at Mrs Oprak s home February 20 with good attendance and reports in, including hospital and local contest updates. 4 H Knifty Stitchers held a skating party and a fundraising candy sale for March of Dimes. Carnival set for March 2 with costumes, queen crowning, and lunch at the McConnell link.
